  Golf Swing Secret: Stroke, Don't Hit

This golf swing secret should not be a secret at all, but it is. It seems that the whole idea for many golfers is to hit the ball as hard as they can so that it goes as far as possible. Actually more often than not the results of this kind of approach will tend to be the very opposite of what is desired and a misguided hack. The golf ball will not go very far and worse still there will be no accuracy.

 

The Difference Between Striking And Hitting Can Be Observed In A Short Putt

The secret of a good golf swing is stroking the ball rather than hitting it. The difference between hitting and stroking can best be observed during a short putt. A vast majority of golfers have no problem executing this putt successfully and it has to be a stroke rather than a hit. If as a golfer you are able to master and perfect the technique of stroking over short distances, it will be easier to transfer the technique to much longer shots. This secret will without doubt have an astounding effect on your golf game, and more so, on your golf swing. One of the first positive effects that you will notice is that you will find that you are able to achieve increased accuracy and distance almost effortlessly.

 

Admittedly it is easy to stroke the ball for a short putt because at such short distances, hitting is not an option. If only most golfers would grasp that the same applies to the longest drives where hitting with all the strength that you can master will give you terrible results it would revolutionize many games.

 

Why Exercising Will Help A Great Deal

One of the reasons why a golfer will naturally feel compelled to hit the ball with brute force as hard as they possibly can, has to do with flabby undeveloped muscles that have not even been warmed up for the game. Inevitably the muscles involved with the golf swing will tend to tense up and the players also becomes very vulnerable to a typical golf injury like the golf elbow for instance.

 

One of the positive effects of exercises to build golf muscles and also to warm up before the game is that it becomes easier to achieve the stroke rather than the hit over longer distances because your muscles pack the power and relaxing them and not feeling the need to strain them to achieve a long drive, usually helps a lot.
